We came to Stetson together from high school. We went to the same high school. I used to envy him. He used to be one of those people who could read something and have it like that. I had to read it three times, and I still wouldn’t have it. I had to work a lot harder, but Phil was just a brilliant guy, and he decided junior year at Stetson that he wanted to be an MD, and got some financial help at Vanderbilt. After Stetson went to Vanderbilt and got his MD. He is still practicing medicine at Gainesville, and he is my age, 78. He doesn’t do surgery any more. He was an orthopedic surgeon, but he is still in the practice. He will look at your knee, and say you need to have some surgery, call in one of his associates, and say take a look at this, because when you reach your 70s, you shouldn’t be in your operating room. You just don’t have the quickness that you need, but he still practices and is still very much a Stetson loyalist.
