High School

Education Story

I grew up in Jacksonville Florida, and went to Robert E. Lee High School which still exists there. When I was a high school student, there were three major public high schools, all named for generals: Robert E. Lee, Andrew Jackson (who of course became a president), and actually the third high school was named for an educator. There was a junior high school named for Kirby Smith, who was a Confederate general. We were the Lee Generals, my school. In my graduating class that year from Lee High School, there were seven of us who came to Stetson and three or four of them were very brilliant students.
